Community Guidelines

Stow is for finding what's happening nearby. These guidelines keep it useful and safe. They are part of our Terms of Use, and we have no tolerance for content or behavior that breaks them.

Post real things

• Share real events and places, with accurate details.
• Post photos you took, or ones you have permission to use.
• Be respectful of the people and places in your posts.

Not allowed

• Harassment and hate. Bullying, threats, intimidation, or attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or other protected characteristics.
• Sexual content. Nudity and sexually explicit content, and any intimate image shared without the consent of the person shown.
• Child safety. Any content that sexualizes or endangers minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
• Violence and self-harm. Threats, graphic violence, or content that promotes or glorifies self-harm.
• Illegal activity. Selling or promoting illegal goods or services, including drugs and weapons.
• Private information. Someone else's home address, phone number or other private details, or photos of people in private settings without their consent.
• Stalking. Using Stow to follow, track or locate someone.
• Spam and deception. Scams, fake or misleading listings, impersonation, and repetitive or commercial spam.
• Content you don't have rights to, such as someone else's photos.

Reporting

Stow doesn't have in-app reporting yet. Until it does, report a post, a listing or a user by emailing support@stowmap.com. Include the username, a description or screenshot of the post, and what's wrong.

We aim to review every report within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these guidelines.

• Intimate images shared without consent: follow the process on our Takedown requests page. We remove them within 48 hours.
• Copyright: send a notice as described on our Takedown requests page.
• Someone in immediate danger: contact local emergency services first.

What we do

When content or behavior breaks these guidelines, we may remove the content, suspend or end the account, and report it to law enforcement where the law requires or where someone's safety is at risk.
