Intimate images shared without consent

If an intimate image or video of you was published on Stow without your consent, including one that was faked or altered with AI or other tools, we will remove it. Under the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act, we remove the content, and make reasonable efforts to find and remove identical copies, within 48 hours of receiving a valid request.

Email legal@stowmap.com with the subject "Take it down request" and include:

  1. Your name and a way to contact you.
  2. Where the content is on Stow: the username, a description of the post, and a screenshot if you can.
  3. A brief statement that you are the person shown, or are authorized to act for them, and that you believe in good faith the image was published without their consent.
  4. Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full name is enough.

You don't need to send us the image itself. We'll confirm when we receive your request and again when the content is removed.

If the image shows someone under 18, we also report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and you can use NCMEC's Take It Down service to help stop it spreading on other platforms.

Copyright (DMCA)

If you believe content on Stow infringes your copyright, send us a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Email it to legal@stowmap.com. A notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for them.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
  3. A description of the content on Stow you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it, such as the username and a screenshot.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.

We remove content in response to valid notices and tell the person who posted it.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to legal@stowmap.com that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. A description of the content that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the content within 10 to 14 business days.

Repeat infringers

We end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright.

Knowingly misrepresenting that content infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages. If you're unsure whether something infringes, consider asking a lawyer before sending a notice.
